Dear 6C Parents,
Thank you to all of the parents that were able to make it to our
Student-Led conferences yesterday and today. It is always nice to have a
chat and it is a valuable experience for students to show off their hard work.
We moved on to our measurement unit in math this week, looking at
how to convert millimeters to centimeters to meters, etc. We learned that
the metric system was designed to allow easy conversions using the power of ten
and by moving the decimal place to make greater or smaller numbers as you move
from one unit to the next. We have started perimeter and we will be
moving on to angles and triangles.
The students are finishing up a few projects. Their provincial
government flipbooks in Social Studies are due Monday for the red group and Tuesday
for the blue group. Students need to have cards completed for the following
topics:
-The Queen
-Speaker
-Sergeant at Arms
-the Mace
-Lieutenant Governor
-Premier
-Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA)
-Government
-Cabinet Minister
-Leader of the Official Opposition
-The Official Opposition
-You! (citizen)
-Making a Bill a Law
-Services Provided by Provincial Government
There is a Google Slide presentation and review document for
students to work with. Our Provincial Government Unit Test will be on Monday,

2019-Trees and Forests. They will also be having a unit test on Wednesday,
